Camtasia Application Font Size

I have a Laptop and an external monitor. I run Camtasia on the External Monitor at 1680 x 1050 (max), and the laptop at  1920 x 1080 with 125% font size. The Camtasia application font size is much too large, most of the time. On occasion, the application somehow recognized that it could display the application menus and options using a smaller font, which give me a much larger work area, track view etc. But most of the time, I get this extra large font sizes which is almost unusable (almost have to back away from the screen to read it). I have noticed that when Camtasia starts on the second monitor (on occasion), it uses small fonts, but when it starts on the laptop, it uses large, and when I move the application to the external monitor, it retains the large fonts (other apps adjust based on the monitor). Is there a way to tell it where to start (which monitor to use?). Also similar on SnagIt, but it never started on the external so I can't say for sure.

What happens if you change the laptop's settings to display @1680 x 1050, and 100% font size?

Laptops can be notoriously difficult to control when you have Windows resize the default font size -- or even if you change the resolution.  The font changing feature has caused problems for several interactive programs that I've made, and when it appears, it is always on laptops where either the display resolution was altered or the default font sizes were changed (larger or smaller).  To make it more confusing, not all laptops have this problem.
When laptops are configured for dual displays, they may sometimes rely on generic display drivers for the second monitor -- and those can be more "forgiving."  I don't know if this is a Camtasia problem so much as an issue arising from drivers in Windows and/or the particular laptop.
Since you don't experience this issue if you start on the exported display, I suspect that your workaround is your best option.

I have tried a variety of ways, and I think I am able to go back to the small font if I set my laptop to small size with 100% and logout out and in again. Start Camtasia and reset screen size. It is a pain. Other applications detect font and screen sizes correctly. SnagIt still had large font size. The two screen shots are from the external monitor with exactly the same setting. Changes in resolution was on the Laptop only.
