Camtasia crashes on Startup on Hp ProBook 4530s running Windows 7 x64. The interface comes up and a few seconds then it greys out and  I get a dialog box telling me that the application crashed and that Microsoft is collecting information.

Is this a recent problem or a new install of Camtasia? What version of Camtasia? Have you updated Windows lately or checked for updates?

This is a new install.

Windows is fully patched with all updates.

The version of Camtasia is the one I downloaded 2 days ago from the techsmith.com site. I am unable to go to Help -> About as the product crashed before I could choose the menu option.

You could attempt another fresh download and a reinstall. That would be my first move. Now all downloads are trouble free.
If that does not work I would contact Tech Support.

This is a free service

Or you could Give the Tech Support Team a call at 888.750.0686 (or +1.517.381.2300 ext. 771 internationally)--they are available from 8 am - 7 pm EST.
