Camtasia does not always "recognize" the clicks from my Bamboo Fun tablet stylus

I have been using my Bamboo Fun tablet instead of a mouse for years, for everything I do on my computer, including editing in Camtasia. Recently, I needed to use the "Extend frame" and although the menu would popup when I used the right-click button, it would NOT select the command with the regular click. I had the same problem when trying to select the "Split audio/video". And today, I noticed that although I can click on the top menu items, I can't click on any command in the pull down menu. However, if I use the mouse that comes with the tablet, it works. Camtasia is the ONLY application I have that seems to not recognize the stylus clicks and furthermore, it is only this week that I notice it behaving like that (and I have been editing videos with this tablet for years).

Anyone has any idea what might be the issue since the tablet and the stylus work fine with other applications AND worked fine with Camtasia for years?

I don't know about your tablet because it's an older one but there are new drivers for Bamboo Ink Stylus's.
http://www.wacom.com/en-us/support/product-support/drivers

I use a Intuos 480. From what I understand, it's a  modern Bamboo for the most part.

I've never used it for editing video before, I gave it a whirl. I can see where the workflow could get pretty smooth once you got the hang of it.I'll stick with a mouse for now.

I confirmed that I can right click top menu items and select them without a problem.
I can separate audio and video every time.
When I extend a frame, the Windows Touch Keyboard pop-ups every-time.The frame extends 1 second but the keyboard covers the extend frame popup.Closing the keyboard, closes extend frame. So that's not ideal.
Good thing I like editing with a mouse.LOL. If I un-dock the keyboard and move it I can access the extend frame window. However,  selecting extend frame shouldn't trigger that keyboard, so somethings going on.

So, for what it's worth. This is what I can tell you.

Good luck, let me know if that's a usable driver

Regards,Joe

I checked and none of those newer drivers are for my tablet.

What i found, while digging further is that ANYTHING inside a pull-down menu can't be clicked with my stylus (left or right-click). I can't save, i can't import a zip project, etc. And i have been doing that for years now without a problem. And it is ONLY happening with Camtasia.

Was there any recent update? I am running version 9.0.5

9.0.5 was a May 11 release, so that's pretty recently.

TechSmith doesn't have any of the older versions of Camtasia 9 available for download at there website for some reason. They started this a while back.

The problem seems to be Camtasia. I would try a repair install of Camtasia. It's quicker than a full reinstall and will leave your custom  settings alone in most cases.

Thanks. I did the repair and it did fix the issue. I am all set to continue using my graphic tablet to work on all my projects in Camtasia.
