I installed Camtasia 2018 few days ago and since then every video I import as media get modified in his own color balance randomly by camtasia.
This is how the original video is:

This is how Camtasia modified it when I import it in medias:

As you can see colors are completely different and even if I use the color adjust everytime, or at least most of time, during the work the brightness, saturation and contrast randomly change on that part of video, even if Im working on a completely different thing.

There's a bug with some videos. Here's a link to the support article.

I've found it's better to use the Microsoft Basic Render driver.

This lets me run my Nvidia graphics card.
It doesn't run as well on the Microsoft driver as it does on the native Nvidia driver.

But it works fairly well and doesn't create any problems that I've run into.

The canvas isn't washed out and videos render without an issue.
Plus, it aids with timeline playback where the card can contribute.

I can confirm, I have initially tested basic MS renderer as well. It works without issues indeed. On my test run, full software took 3 minutes, while MS hardware on RTX 2080 took 2 minutes.

But i am biased to think software video quality was a little bit sharper, better. Plus, now I'm not trusting GPU with camtasia at all. I don't need any secret surprises. Software works well. I'll use software, it's the best.

Will see how bad playback will become. I can tell it was sometimes lagging on transitions even when hardware acceleration enabled, so I shouldn't lose much. I hope.
