Camtasia Feature Requests: More keyboard shortcuts

When I'm editing in Camtasia, it would be much more efficient if I could do more stuff using the keyboard.  Moving between the keyboard and mouse is a hassle and wasted effort.  I'd love to see these keyboard shortcuts in the tool:

1. Keyboard shortcut to Deselect
Sometimes I want to clear the current selection. I can select using the keyboard but I can't deselect without using the mouse.  It would be great if I could press 'Esc' and clear the selection.

2. Keyboard shortcut to move edit head by 1 second
Sometimes I know that I want to edit something that's a few seconds away.  In a text editor, you can press CTRL-Arrow to move forward by a whole word.  I'd like the same thing in Camtasia.  It would be super helpful if I could press CTRL-Arrow and move the cursor forward by 1 whole second.  Related to this (and just like a text editor), if I press CTRL-Shift-Arrow, I'd like to select by whole seconds.

3. Keyboard shortcut to move edit head to start of next sound

This would be similar to item #2 except that it would be smarter.  Pressing this keyboard combination would move the edit head forward to the start of the next bit of sound.

4. Keyboard shortcut to select current silence
I pause a lot when I'm recording (rather than saying 'uhmmmm') and all these pauses need to be edited out.  When I edit, I'm constantly selecting blocks of silence and it takes FOREVER.  It would be great to have a keyboard shortcut or a right-click option to automatically select a chunk of silence.

Sounds like good suggestions for keyboard shortcuts. I export some of my audio to Audacity. It can automatically set all pauses to a specific length that you decide. Then add back to Camtasia.

Interesting. Can Audacity also delete sections of video at the same time?

No. Audacity is audio only.
It is easy to cut the video to match by locking the audacity audio track and leaving the original audio track to line up to. Crop the video and original audio so that the audio tracks line up. Having the Audacity track as a guide seems to help standardize the gaps/pauses when there are a lot in a longer video. It does take a little work but so do most things worth doing. Obviously there are several ways to do this.

Some of the higher end higher cost video editing software may do both automatically at once but I do not have them. $$

Long time ago this post, I know, but I just got v 2018 and I have no idea, what the programmers are thinking, but they changed the function of the arrow keys, for me: terrible decision. I can see, what the arrow keys are doing, but I think, that most users would prefer, that they work like they work in many other programs: moving - or with Shift - selecting in any editor: Word, Audacity etc.

My suggestion to Techsmitch: learn from Audacity.
