Camtasia J, K, & L Key integration request

Editing faculty lectures sure would get done quicker if I could fly back and forth in the time line with J, K, & L Key integration. When editing, and going through the time line of a project in real time can be quite time consuming. I would really love to be able to go through the timeline at 2x 3x speed but still be able to understand what is being said.

Thanks, Glenn

I second this request.
JKL navigation is very common amongst many video editors, and is a feature found in other screen capture tools for mac. It would be great to have this in Camtasia as well.

I'm not a user of Camtasia Studio for Windows - does does anyone know if the windows version has this?

I ask because it's been stated that they are working on a new version that will be at feature parity with the windows version, if so, this may already be in the works.

This would definitely help me with video reviews/edits. It's rare that I watch anything at less that 2x speed these days.

J = Play Backwards
K = Stop
L = Play Forwards

Each time you press J or L the speed should double up to 32x.

L = Play 1x
LL = Play 2x
LLL = Play 4x
LLLL = Play 8x
LLLLL = Play 16x
LLLLLL = Play 32x

This allows you to navigate incredibly quickly through a timeline without always needing to grab your mouse.

Example workflow:

LLLL: Advance forward to where you want to edit. Whoops, went too far!
K: Stop.
J: Go backward a bit.
K: Stop. Perfect!

This is such a basic request for anybody doing any kind of editing. I really don't understand why we can't do that yet in Camtasia. I've been doing that in Premiere since...forever!

And I also don't understand why we never get an answer from anybody. "We hear you! We're working on it." No?

People have been requesting J-K-L functionality for years.Just not formally. There buried in other threads. I voted for this thread today. Even though it's 2 years old.
I have seen  J-K-L request.Fast forward playback requests.Fast playback options requests.It's called a lot of different things. There all feature requests. Unfortunately, TechSmith doesn't seem to be listening. Well, they may be listening, but they aren't delivering a fast preview feature. "Or reverse"

I use Premier Pro so I'm hooked on J-K-L  and have been for years.
I haven't lost hope, but I was hoping the feature would be added to Camtasia 8.
