Camtasia keeps saying my file is made in an earlier edition

For the past few weeks I've been working on a pretty big Camtasia project.

After working on it a lot last night I decided to shut down my PC and go to sleep

When I woke up I opened Camtasia to work on it some more but I got a weird popup that said "This project was made with an earlier version of Camtasia", which is strange, since I literally just had it open 12 hours or so ago. But I went along with it and converted the video.

However, when I opened the converted video, there were no clips or any sort of media on the timeline.

I freaked out, thinking something got corrupted and I couldn't open it.

But then I checked and realized that Camtasia had updated overnight, so I reinstalled it to an earlier version to see if it would open the same project file, but to no avail, it still had the same message "This project was made with an earlier version..."

I tried this about 3 times for earlier versions of Camtasia until I know I had gone past the earliest one that I had. Nothing will work, I've tried multiple backups and it just won't work. This is a really important project to me and I would appreciate any kind of help I could get for this.

There should be a copy of the unconverted project. When Camtasia converts a project to pen in a newer version it leaves the original project intact.
Try to find the original file.If you save your projects to the default location, there should be a Camtasia folder in your Documents.
Look for the project of the same name and check the properties for the save and modified dates and times.

Open Windows "File Explorer"

Highlight "This PC"

Type camproj. in the Search Box.

Let the search complete.Somewhere in the results.
You shouldn't have any problem finding the Original /UN-Converted camproj.
