camtasia need to change the way of edit long video, its impossible to work. to slow. i dont have time to cut and create differents projects to optimize the velocity of edition.
I read the documentation and other comments and you only recommend to create small projects and work in this way, this is not a solution, you need to improve your system, more flexible for big projects.

I don't understand this with a 64 bit operating system or 32 as far as that goes for saving or creating a video file. For creating then I can see a limitation on memory or RAM but as far as saving the only limitation should be the hard drive space. If they are telling you to work in smaller productions an combining them for the big production then they apparently are not appending an existing file based on file size. There are a few video file appending softwares available for free so it there is free ware then I would think this should be part of Camtasia.
I haven't run into this problem and have created a few training sessions up to 40 mn. What is the limitation on your computer as far as the video size? Myself I am using a MacBook Pro 15 with 16gb RAM.

Just my thoughts.

For 64bit systems running 8GB Ram
i5 2.0Ghz or higher processor (i7 2.0 or higher)
video card with at least 1gb or higher shared memory, or better, 1gb or higher of dedicated memory.
And there is NOT a project that you cannot do.

My laptop.
i5 (now, and i7)
128mb Dedicated Video Ram, 2GB shared Ram.
8GB Ram.

There is not a project that the system cannot do.
With the i7, it makes it a lot easier and faster to work with the bigger project.
Some project does bog down a little more than others, but nothing that I cannot handle.

Now.
This is an option for you.

Say you have a project that is over an hour in length (I have done many)
If you are worried about it bogging down the system, once you start added in a lot of effects and so forth.
Then this is the only way to do it.

Open the video into Studio.
Cut and remove half of the video, and SAVE AS... ProjectOne
Open the video back up into Studio.
Cut are the same place as above, and SAVE AS... ProjectTwo
Edit both videos in their own project file.

You work with the first project, and then move over to the second project, and so on...
Once you have them both completed.
Close out of all other running apps on the system, and load ProjectOne and then ProjectTwo to your timeline, and then render it out.

Good Luck
