Camtasia needs a source monitor

In every other non-linear editor (and that's what Camtasia is) there is what's called a Source Monitor that can play raw media before bringing it into the timeline. In other NLEs you can then set in and out points so that you can select only what you want before bring it into the timeline, but what I really want in Camtasia is the ability to see your source media larger than a thumbnail before dragging it into the timeline.

The thumbnails are too small to be able to tell what is happening in the clip, especially for a screengrab. A source monitor would fix this problem

You can right click the source file in the Media bin and select Preview. Could this help?

Right clicking a clip in the media bin doesn't give me an option for preview.

My apologies, I didn't spot you mentioned Mac. The Preview is available in Windows.
