Hi all,

I make short movies of 2 min to 3 min.
For each one, I've used CAMTASIA (for 3 months now).
During my mounting session, CAMTASIA crashes 15 times (more or less).
It happens ALL THE TIME !!! I'm loosing time et work of course :-(

I'm looking for a real MAC COMPATIBLE software.
Which one you recommend ?
Many thanks

When you say mounting, do you mean you were still trying to install the software?

Hi Bobby, by mounting (the movie), I meant cutting and assembling the pieces of small movies to create a master movie.

Thanks for the clarification. A few questions:

What version OS are you running?
What MacBook are you using?
What size is your hard drive? Type?
Where are you saving your content? Directly on hard drive or in a networked/cloud location?
What version of Camtasia?
Have you erased Camtasia and performed a fresh install?

I have been using Camtasia on Mac for years and I dig it. I’ll see what I can do to help out :)

Bruno,

Many thousands of us here use MacBook Pros to edit with Camtasia. I'm doing so at this moment. If you'll answer Bobby's questions, plus how much RAM you have, we can make some good suggestions. I suspect you either don't have enough memory or are using an out-of-date version of something.

Hi All,

Here is a brief of my system information:

------------
Nom du modèle : MacBook Pro

  Identifiant du modèle : MacBookPro12,1

Vitesse du processeur : 3,1 GHz

  Nombre de processeurs : 1

Nombre total de cœurs : 2

  Cache de niveau 3 : 4 Mo

  Mémoire : 16 Go, DDR3, 1867 MHz

I save all my content on my Hard Drive

I haven't erased CAMTASIA to re-instal all from scratch.

I think it's a pretty good configuration.

Thanks if you have any good suggestion, because I really like CAMTASIA.

Cheers,

Bruno

I’m sorry you are having issues. I use Camtasia on both an MacBookPro i5 with mid range specs and an iMac with high end specs. As long as I keep in mind the limitations of each system, and that Camtasia is primarily a screen recording software with some video production capabilities, NOT a full blown video production software like Premiere Pro (which does not have screen recording capabilities) I am always happy with the results.

Bruno,
Your MacBook is current and powerful, but you are a couple of years back on OSX. You didn't mention what version of Camtasia you are running? And do you run other applications at the same time? You may need to debug this with Techsmith Tech Support.

Since my first reply I've had Camtasia open for 11 hours, and performed many other tasks in Photoshop and Word and Excel and Chrome, with no crashes.

Thanks for your answer Dave.
I'm using CAMTASIA 2018.0.7
When i run CAMTASIA I close all the applications beside (no word, no excel...just Mail, Calendar, Safari and Chrome).
I'm currently using CAMTASIA for à 2 min movie and it crashed so far 4 times + 1 for which I had to restart the computer.

I will update my OS in the next hours... to see what happens.

I do sometimes run into problems with Camtasia crashing (very rarely). I find that a fresh install with the version and the latest version of MacOS fixes the problem.
Please keep us posted.

Hi bruno,
I'm sorry to hear you're having trouble with crashing. As you might guess, this is not commonly the case. Would you mind opening a tech support ticket so we can get a closer look at your computer to try to figure out what's causing such instability?
