camtasia opens full screen for new project

When I select 'New Project' or 'Open Project', the Camtasia interface always expands to fill my full screen.  Why is that?  Why doesn't it just stay it's normal size.  I have to keep resizing it.  Thanks.

It shouldn't, that's not normal.

What version of Camtasia?
Is this a 4K monitor?
How long has this been happening?

I'm using Camtasia 2018 on a 1920x1080 monitor

if I open Camtasia, and the app is not full screened, loading any existing project causes the app to go full screen when the project is loaded

but commanding a new project does not affect the app size

so I'm guessing what you're seeing is partially normal/expected behavior?

If you resize the app, it doesn't retain that size the next time you start it; it reverts back to the default size. If you reduce the size of the viewport in order to see more tracks, that is not retained, either. These are somewhat minor, albeit annoying traits that should be fixed, but there are more serious issues that need to be addressed.

interesting

on my Win 10 Pro Camtasia 2018, resizing/re-positioning is remembered when Camtasia is exited then re-launched

On the off chance that you lessen the span of the viewport with the end goal to see more tracks, that isn't held, either. These are to some degree minor, yet irritating characteristics that ought to be settled, however there are more significant issues that should be tended to.

Camtasia 9 and 2018 behaves the same way. For me, new project doesn't make the UI expand.

DO I think it should behave like that. NO. I think its a bug that needs to be reported. So I did.

I doubt TechSmith is aware of it.I would be surprised if many people edit at less than full screen mode

Camtasia 8 does not behave that way, not that it matters.

I'll let you know what happens when Tech Support gets back with me.
