Hi There,

I'm trying to figure out if its possible to use Camtasia with chapters while using 2.1GB video file size not link on my server but with another  option such as hosting the video at Youtube or other solution?

Any ideas?

Thanks,
Tom

It would be good to know more about the format and running time to provide you with better answers. I believe YouTube has a top end limit of 100MB for MP4 files.

Surely your file would render to a smaller file size for YouTube; if it could be split into separate clips and then added to a YouTube playlist. I offer individual clips per topic and then a playlist that plays them all towards taking a quiz and printing a certificate.

Timbre4,  thank you for the quick reply.
I have a 37 minutes videos that I divided to 15 chapters.
Currently if I will upload the the project to my hosting providers it will be slow.

Interesting idea with saving each part - chapter as a clip from a playlist.
Do you have a demo you can share?

thanks,
Tom

Tom, you might also consider downloading and installing HandBrake. Running your files through HandBrake often reduces the file size considerably with a quite impressive result.

Cheers... Rick :)

Playlist and 10 individual clips - accessed from YouTube natively but also our product support pages:

Hi Rick,

Thank you for the idea with HandBrake - I actually managed to do that - to compress the file.
Name the same compressed file into the project but it didn't work even with the same naming.
Thought about CDN  as another option.

Where is the link to the video in the project files?  is it in inside the swf player?

Thanks,
Tom

Timbre4 - Oh you meant to play them within Youtube as a playlist :)
I meant to play them with Camtasia Player with linking to external source.  :)

Thanks,
Tom

That's probably going to be a stretch.

perhaps check out this example ...

http://cookbookplus.com/Videos/GrogCollection/GrogMenu/GrogMenu_player.html

the front-end "menu" is a tiny video made only of hotspots; there are 26 chapters here; each is a separate production [individual chapter videos can be hosted anywhere], but all these are in the same folder on my web site

Kayakman - is it all using Camtasia?
How do you implement the optin form at the beginning?

yes; 100% made with Camtasia Studio

the starting "menu" is just a very short project video; all the buttons are hotspots

all the hotspots are stacked on top each other [on different tracks] at t=0 in the project, each is 6 seconds long

each hotspot is configured as a jump to URL in new window [I use relative URLs but absolute URLs work too]
