Camtasia : Quiz -Add provision to set a cutoff for the quiz results to determine pass or fail

I have checked with the TechSmith technician and realised that a feature to set a cutoff for the Quiz feature is unavailable. The cutoff can be a percentage to determine the participant has passed (or say has enough understanding on the topic of presentation).
Note that there exists an option to initiate a FEEDBACK for each questions and navigate user to different options based on a correct or incorrect answer.
I believe, the same feature can be made available for the entire QUIZ as well. If the user fails to score the cutoff (say 70% ) the user has to repeat the sections\chapters in the presenation or say re-do the test.

HI Tom,

Thank you for the feedback.  Are you able to use a SCORM package to host your videos?  A video with a quiz wrapped into a SCORM package does have the feature to set a score the viewer must get on the entire video (all questions included in the video that are graded) to mark the module pass / fail.

If you are not in a position to use a Learning Management System (LMS) that supports SCORM, could you describe how you are hosting your videos to your customers?

Thanks,
Ben

Hello Ben.
Thank you for the hint. I still havent tried\used SCROM for the purpose.  I,  so far, have used my available space in <Screencast> for the purpose. And I am afraid, the Camtasia does not have  a feature like it for the purpose. Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.

Tom,

You are correct, Camtasia to Screencast workflow does not have that option.

Hi Ben,
I read through the community posts and this one seems to be the closest to the questions I have, so I hope you will be able to help me. I have the following questions:
1) I created only a quiz (several questions, but no real video -just a kind of placeholder callout) and produced it in SCORM format. I set the passing threshold to 80% but our trials show that even if you do not get a single answer right, you would still pass. Why is that? What do I have to change?
2) When having completed the quiz, the person taking the quiz does not see the result right away but only later in the learning platform we use. How can I make a message appear that says either "Congratulations, you have passed the quiz." or "Please take the quiz again."
3) If non of the testers failed so far, I am not sure, if this question might be redundant, but: how can I set up the quiz the way that it starts again if a person has failed it?
Thank you very much for your response in advance. It is much appreciated!
Best regards,
Ellen

Hi Ellen,

1) What version of SCORM are you producing with for this project?  That does not seem like the correct behavior.
2) This seems like the behavior (possible issue) is with the LMS you are using and its SCORM implementation.  We don't have any say in what you described.
3) Camtasia (TechSmith Smart Player) does not have anything built in to achieve what you described.  However there may be a way of setting that up with the LMS directly?

What LMS are you using the host the Camtasia productions?

Thanks,
Ben

Hi Ben,
I work with Studio 8 and SCORM version 2004.
I will check with my colleagues who are in charge of the LMS on the other two points and see, if we can find a solution.
Thank you,
Ellen
