Camtasia randomly deleting clips from the timeline?

Not sure if anyone else has had this experience but in a project with a lot of edits, I frequently get things go missing from earlier on in the timeline. So, for example, I'm making 15 minute videos maybe 5 or so minutes at a time, importing, editing, capturing, etc. By the time I get to the end, I go back to the beginning and find that there's a huge gap, or something's been deleted, and I need to drag out from another point in the video and re-edit all over again. I can't be sure but it seems to be related to when I'm zoomed out; if I try and move or select things while Camtasia is rebuilding thumbnails and waveforms, I find that things are getting randomly selected from elsewhere in the timeline. Is anyone else experiencing this?

Just trying to think of an alternative.
Have you every thought about going through your video and putting markers or comments at each place you might want to edit and then edit in reverse, that is, make your last edit first and work your way to the beginning ?
