I am using Camtasia to record my online lectures, and sometimes the record system audio will not work! I will discover this later on the editor when I find no sound attached to the video. It is completely random. Anyone has the same problem?

If you open the recorder window before plugging in your headset/mic, the recorder will never see your mic.
In control panel launch "Sound". On the playback tab, disable all devices you never use or didn't even know they existed. On the recording tab, which mic is default. that's what the recorder will see. I've gotten into the habit of checking the audio level before I start recording. If my mic isn't listed in the recorders on "Audio", I know I have to restart Camtasia's recorder after I plug in the correct mic.

Are all of these lectures  being hosted on the same website?
Are you using the same browser for all recordings?

Thanks guys for trying to help. I am not recording my mic, I am only interested in recording the lecutre.
I belive I discovered the problem. The software my university uses for streaming lectures has it's own output options, so from the software I choosed the output to be my headset, however I discovered that in my PC the audio output was the speaker, so that's why the record system audio wasn't working, because both system outputs have to be the same :)
