Camtasia Recorder Suddenly Extremely Slow & Lagging

Recently I've been having some major issues with Camtasia Recorder which is totally preventing me from using the software.

Camtasia editor works fine but when I go to record my screen, it takes about 30 seconds for the recorder to load up, then the recording area selection box also becomes extremely slow. Trying to adjust the recording window is extremely laggy and pretty much undoable.

When the recorder finally loads up and I'm able to press record, my entire system freezes up and I can't do anything until I CTRL+ALT+DEL and force quit Camtasia Recorder.

I have no idea what to do and I am at a loss for ideas. I've already:

> uninstalled and reinstalled Camtasia twice.
> I have no other issues like this on any of my other video editing/creation programs, which has narrowed it down to a Camtasia only related issue.

I've been using Camtasia for years on this machine with no issues like this.

I'm running Camtasia 8 with latest updates on Windows 10.

Can you please help?

Camtasia 8.6's recorder works without issue on my fully updated Windows 10 machine.
That being said.

I am having the exact same issue on my Mac with version 2.10.8.  Have also submitted a support ticket.  Did you ever get this sorted out Peter?

Yes, this was the reply I got from support and this fixed it.

"Hello,

I noticed that your audio driver can be updated and here is the link for that:

http://www.realtek.com.tw/downloads/downloadsView.aspx?Langid=1&PNid=24&PFid=24&Level=4&Conn=3&DownTypeID=3&GetDown=false (make sure you choose the 64 bit version)

After that installs please restart the computer and try again.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

Kind Regards,
Jason
