Happy Monday,

Camtasia 8.5.1 (Feb 2015) Something I have noticed for a while, cannot figure out the pattern and I can't find previous posts so I'll just ask this here.

Why is some imported media RE-SIZABLE and other media not? I'm talking about PNG type files typically made with Snag-It 12 most of the time. Some media appears with circle handles that can be used to stretch the image and the others have squares for handles and only allow cropping portions.

I cannot figure out the rhyme or reason for this. This morning I thought maybe it's the direct Share importing from Snag-It to CS8 (w/o having to name it) versus the ID a media clip by name and use the CS8 import media function. This is not the answer.

True, I can play with the size of the PNG file in Snag-It but then I'm forced to guess and commit to a single size. It's just faster and easier to drag it to the size needed in the project itself. (which I can do with SOME media but not others!)

Any insights are appreciated.

you can change squares to circles by cycling the crop/sizer control on the canvas

Hi,
Kayakman is correct. I think you are in crop mode when you are seeing the squares.
So, this is not an issue of Snagit captures - but only one of being in Crop mode.

Just click on the Crop button and you should be able to resize correctly.

If this doesn't fix the issue, let us know.

THANK YOU! As a long-time user I'm kind of embarrassed how simple the answer was. Thanks for setting me free.

OT - I hope all of today's log-inĀ and email verification jazz is over now. :)
