Camtasia studio 8.3: System audio starts before it should

When I record system audio (with voice recording too or not, that's irrelevant, the problem happens in both), even if the audio shouldn't start untill a few seconds in, the audio in the preview and in the editor starts right at the beggining, and it usually ignores most long audio breaks (like, the audio starts 3 seconds in, then after a small time, I pause the audio in some way, but not the video, and then I resume the audio, but in the preview, the audio starts right away, and it usually either ignores the pause or greatly shortens it). Here is an example: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oUmNAGPpi90&feature=youtu.be

For starters, Camtasia 8.3 is a very old version of Camtasia. It was released in Jan of 2014. Version 8.6 is the most recent version. It was released 1 1/2 years after 8.3
There have been a lot of changes and bug fixes applied over that timeframe. I suggest that you update Camtasia and go from there.
If you have some compelling reason not to update, you could contact tech support and see what they have to say about it.
