Camtasia Studio 8 "your trial period has expired"

I've been able to activate CS8 with my purchased key, but when I run the Recorder it gives me the above message and will not allow me to update the Recorder component with the key.

This is answered for CS7 by editing the registry but when I applied that fix it doesn't seem to apply to CS8.

This is such an unnecessary issue that should be corrected given it's happened in previous versions.

Hello,
I'm sorry you are having trouble!

So, you have seen this support article and followed the instructions?
https://support.techsmith.com/hc/en-us/articles/203728568-Camtasia-Windows-Trial-expired-message-dis...

If not, please try this and see if it works.

If you did, and it doesn't work, have you tried restarting your computer since you made the registry change? If not, please give that a go and see if Recorder runs properly.

If that doesn't work, you will need to open a support ticket, here.

Thanks, Kelly. I did try this option as per my sentence: "This is answered for CS7 by editing the registry but when I applied that fix it doesn't seem to apply to CS8." but no effect.

After closing and reopening several times I was about to uninstall and reinstall something happened and it finally worked.

Problem solved!
