Long story shortened. Camtasia Studio 8 does not have 4k rendering/uploading or even 1440p to my knowledge. I personally feel that with all the new tecnolegy that has come out like the GTX 980 and the 4k monitors that its time for an upgrade. Anyone else think this? I would love to see my Favourite editing software company (Camtasia) upgrade to this ability. :)

That is a great suggestion but I think they might be considering that not everyone can afford to keep upgrading to the latest and greatest technology that is offered out there. Gets a little expensive. Also the rendering would most likely take longer and use more resources on the computer.

I do feel that it would make a great option to have added and you might want to see if they can make it a feature request. Thanks for posting you input and feedback here. Have a great day.

I agree with Fred on the rendering aspects.

The Camtasia editor can currently render video up to 2048 X 2048 Pixels in size. That won't help anyone that uses a 4k monitor.
One option is to Record a 4k monitor with the Camtasia recorder with the AVI format for now. The recorder supports those higher resolutions.  Then edit them with a Program that supports 4k.
Camtasia has to stay competitive.  4k is in it's future.

Camtasia 8 is still only a 32 bit Program. It's because of this limited capacity to utilize RAM memory that 4k is probably not in it's future.

The following is strictly my opinion and I know as little about Camtasia 9 as the public in general.

Camtasia 9 will need to be 64 bit for the simple reason that all new computers are 64 bit.  32 bit support will disappear from computers entirely one day. Just like Windows XP.
With all the New Ultra HD monitors out there it will also need to possess editing capability's to render these higher resolutions. 64 bit will make this possible. Allowing you to access enough RAM memory to process these large files smoothly.

These features will be available in Camtasia 9.

That's my Personal Prediction for Camtasia 9's Biggest New Features. That and you will see it released in Less than 6 months and probably Before Christmas.

Time will tell, that's my story and I'm sticking to it. This is Sept. 9. 2014 8:45 AM EST.
