Camtasia v3 vs v2 performance

Hi all
I've just tried v3 on two different macs (MBA 2012, mac mini 2009).
With Camtasia v2, on both of these macs I've used two video files on the timeline, each about 250mb and Camtasia remained quite 'snappy'.
However, on v3, the performance is extremely laggy.
Has anyone else noticed this?

Also, where has the 'mute' button gone that was near the volume slider?

Cheers
Kim

Yes!

I've had v3 slow my MacBook Pro for a few months now and on several occasions it slowed to a crawl and was practically unusable. I finally had to make sure all other programs were closed including web browsers which helped a little. This is on a MacBook Pro with plenty of storage space and 8GB of memory. Still the performance of v2 is still superior to v3 which is frustrating when you pay additional $$$ to "upgrade" and in reality it becomes a downgrade.

FRUSTRATED! Please Camtasia figure out what's dragging v3 down on Macs!

I encountered really poor performance a day after installing Camtasia 3 on a mid-2011 MacBook Pro (i7, 16 GB RAM, and a relatively empty SSD drive) running system 10.10.6 (constant spinning wheel, high fans, massive CPU usage by kernal_task owned by root). I tried resetting all caches via Safe boot, but what I think really fixed the issue was resetting the disk permissions in el capitan. If you google 'reset disk permissions el capitan' you will find links to the steps (you will need to go to terminal and use sudo). Why Apple got rid of this function in Disk Utility is beyond me. I hope this helps.
