Camtasia Video and Audio Not Syncing Up

I just got a brand new quad processor with the Brio 4K Camera.  I've had three techs out to test out my system and they show me 100% working perfectly on my end.  Every graphic and video and RAM and processor tests out flawlessly...

BUT...

BUT...

Camtasia has an issue with processing video faster than the audio.  It's a Camtasia problem or a settings issue that I cannot find (and many many many many others cannot find the answer as well).

The reason I know it's a Camtasia issue is...

#1)  I use three other video softwares that give a better, clearer picture than Camtasia with no syncing issues.

#2)  I use two other screen capture softwares that give a perfect grab with no syncing issues.

The ONLY issue I have is with Camtasia... the ONLY software that won't work even though I have updated ALL drivers... added more RAM...  tested all processors... tested with many different settings... and STILL get the same problems that the majority of people get too...

THIS IS A CAMTASIA ISSUE!!!

Hello,

Could it be that your clips are VBR? (variable bit rate) This usually accounts for going out of sync issues. These clips play fine natively on the devices shot with (iPhone, etc.) but get strange when you put them on a editor timeline. Using an app like Handbrake converts them to CBR (constant bit rate) and then sync will not be an issue. Just a thought...

Hi Kit;

That link goes to a Google Search results page; what I would like to know is the ticket number from the conversations that you have had with our Technical Support team so I can look into the diagnostics files that would have been requested. Do you have the ticket number (it would be listed in the subject line of the emails where you communicated with our Support team at https://support.techsmith.com/ ).

Hi Kit;

There could be any number of reasons for syncing issues; it could stem from hardware issues, lack of resources, bottlenecking, or unsupported devices to software-related issues such as conflicting application, permissions issues, dated drivers (down to even the type of content being captured). The list is nearly endless which is why it is paramount that users contact our Support Team and open a ticket so we can thoroughly investigate the issue. In order for us to provide both accurate support to users and pertinent information to our development teams, we need to follow through the troubleshooting steps.

If you have not opened a support ticket, please do so now so that we can investigate the cause of your audio/video sync issues. Opening a ticket will be the fastest way to determining the problem and getting a resolution to it.

Strange:

I did this.  The solution that solved this problem is the frames per second.   It went from dropping 20 frames per second to 0 ...

We set the FPS to 15 and that seems to have corrected the syncing issue.  Quite the runaround and quite expensive solution to a simple setting that did the trick.  Out of THREE 3rd party techs who sold me more ram, better webcams... this seemed to have done the trick.

Quite frankly - I'm perplexed.
