Make Camtasia Video Preview resizable to show correct ratio

I would like to see a bigger video preview in Camtasia so I could see
the wide screen ratio presented correctly and so that I could adjust my
lighting more accurately. Now I have to open my Logitech software to get
a large enough wide screen image to get my lighting set right and then I
have to close Logitech and open Camtasia to record the video. If I need
to make a change I have to go through this all over again. Very
annoying. If the preview screen would pop out like the play screen (below) and expand that would be
awesome. Thanks.

have you tried putting the preview window [canvas] in full screen mode?

That's a great Idea! Maybe Techsmith can change this post to an Idea.

I was thrown off by the Image you uploaded at first, I enhanced it a bit. Hope you don't mind. See Image Below.

Thanks for the suggestion, Ti! I changed this post to an idea. Please give it a +1/Me Too in order to follow it for future updates and encourage others to do the same. The devs will be able to follow the desirability of this feature.

Thanks again!

Hi Jessie, (and thanks to you and Joe for the enhancement) I just recorded a 15 minute segment to add into an hour program i am doing and because the preview window was so small and squished i didn't see an element in the video that had moved so now the viewers will see a visual element disappear when i didn't want that to happen to distract them. i really don't want to have to go record in another software and then import and then edit, and i am going to be doing a lot of these videos, I have learned how to use Camtasia now and i really don't want to have to go look into learning Sony or Adobe or another recording and editing software. is there any possibility of having a bigger and format accurate preview window anytime in the foreseeable future?

Hello Everybody,

I have similar concerns with the preview window.

I have a Paxcam camera mounted on a polarizing microscope, I'm trying to video the image while rotating the microscope stage.  The camera and microscope are not perfectly synchronized from a focusing standpoint, and I also like to move the fine focus while videoing.  However, the Camtasia Preview Window is so small I cannot easily see my fine focusing of the images on the microscope.  It's just trial and error trying to have the correct focus on very fine details.  Being able ti increase the size of the preview window would be a great help.

Does anyone know if changes are made or planned?
