Using Camtasia Add-In for Powerpoint (Office 365) all my mics work from Blue Yeti, Logitech, evena CamLink.  Problem is when I select My Presonus StudioLive AR8 USB SL-Main and then PowerPoint will freeze.  Any other Mic works.  Any thoughts on that?

If you launch the Camtasia recorder separately (not using the PPT add in) does anything change?

My thought is that maybe there is some issue with the add in.

Additionally, I know that you are able to record narration directly from PPT. If you try that and choose that microphone, does PPT freeze? If so, you know it's an issue with PPT and the mic.

Cheers... Rick :)

Thank you, Rick.  Yes, using Camtasia Recorder directly, using the Presonus USB mixer it is working fine.  When I try recording directly from PPT, using the Caprasia add-in, then PPT freezes.

So, absolutely, something with the Add-In.  Using a mixer gives better control and sound than just using USB.

If I were in your shoes, then I'd proceed by avoiding using the add in. You should end up with basically the same results. I believe the add in has a few features like adding markers for you automatically and suchlike.

So in short, you would fire up the Camtasia Recorder, begin recording, then launch the PPT presentation and work your way through it.

If, for some reason, you are intent on using the add in, then contacting TechSmith support would be the next step I'd suggest. They may have a trick up their sleeve that would allow you to move beyond the issue.

Please keep us posted on what you settled on and best of luck to you! Rick :)

Thanks, I have opened a ticket on TechSmith and will update the thread as soon as I have any news.  Agree on your recommendations, the add-in is just simpler for the markers.

Thank you!!
