Camtasia 2 for Mac won't export to mp4, mov, youtube or any other!

Hello,

I have Camtasia 2 for Mac (running on Lion), I've done a bunch of editing on different files, now I want to share.
I click to export as mp4 - the window comes up to choose the title and where, I click "export" and .....
nothing!!!!
The window is there with the progression bar but nothing happens it does not start at all.
It is the same to share with youtube, advanced export, etc.
And it is the same if the file is big or small.
I uninstalled (not just drag and drop to the trash) and reinstalled Camtasia 2 for Mac. No change!
So I have these great videos that I have prepared and I cannot do anything with them!!

Plesase help me!!

Yes!!!
I did get an answer and it worked:

It sounds like you may be running into the following.

Answer Title: Camtasia for Mac: Exporting to any format does not progress
Answer Link: http://techsmith.custhelp.com/app/ans...

Please let me know if you have any questions.

the link takes you to the following answer:

"Camtasia for Mac: Exporting to any format does not progress

Exporting to any format hangs in Camtasia for Mac. The progress bar never moves and a finished video is not produced.

The CTLoader toolbar conflicts with Camtasia for Mac and prevents exporting.
Check for the following files and remove them. Restart your computer and re-export the project.
/Library/InputManagers/CTLoader
/Users//Library/InputManagers/CTLoader
If you are using Mac OS X 10.7 Lion, the user Library folder is hidden. This article has instructions for opening it.

Here's the link if you are using Lion:

Hope this works for you too.

Hello Mike

Thanks for your post, unfortunately, this did not work... I do not have a CTLoader file anywhere on my MAC. Can you make any other suggestions?

Thanks!

did you look in the library going from
Macintosh HD -> click on "go" on top menu bar, when you press the "option" key you see "library" that appears, click on "library" while holding down "option" -> then find input managers -> CTLoader

this is = /Library/InputManagers/CTLoader

I did NOT have a CTLoader file under /users/library/ ....etc.

you will NOT find CTloader by doing a search

If this does not work, try submitting a question to the support desk at
http://www.techsmith.com/support.html
If you haven't used this yet you will have to create an account. They answer the questions faster in the support desk.

Hope this works,

Good luck,

Sandra

Greetings Sandra,

Well, it turns out that I did have a CTLoader file, but when I did a full computer search for the file it did not show up!

Once I removed the file - it worked! I did not even need to reboot!

Here is the path I used to find it:
Finder window.... Macintosh HD ... Library ... InputManager ... CTLoader

Thanks!!

I am glad you managed to resolve yours, now I am experiencing the same problem and I couldn't find my Library folder using Sandras nor your path, it was kind of guess work that I found it eventually however.

Further frustration is even made worse as I don't find the InputManager and CTLoader files, I have looked everywhere?

Please kindly help somebody??

Which version of Camtasia for Mac are you running?  This is an old thread, and the answers are not applicable to newer versions of Camtasia for Mac.  The CTLoader problem is only an issue for version 2.8.x and earlier.

The best way to get help with this problem is to open up a ticket with our technical support.   https://support.techsmith.com/hc/en-us/requests/new

you don't need to do all that...just go to Share - Advanced export...you can export to a bunch of formats, including MP4 and avi.

laco761, I, too, have Yosemite, and I still haven't found a solution. Unfortunately, I don't have another mac to try with. The problem I'm having is: when I import any video clips to Camtasia, I can edit everything, I just can't export. I've tried everything. It's very frustrating when you've spent hours editing and then you can't export a video! I've just been using iMovie for the time being. If anyone has any solutions, my ears are open.

Hi, we had the same problem on Yosemite today. We solved it via system maintenance: we launched disc utility, repaired the volume, restarted (you should do this disc utility exercise every 2-6 months anyway), and export started to work again. Hope this works for you too! Cheers!

Hi, I tried to export and have been issues and have tried installing and re-installing the app and nothing worked.. until..... I clicked on ADVANCED EXPORT and then chose to export into .MOV format and made sure that I had no space between the names.. i.e. I labelled my file 1.mov and it exported.. when I added a space between, i.e. "movie final.mov" this failed.. so try without adding spaces and export into MOV first. Get it out of Camtasia so you can play around with it elsewhere..

Same problem here. Can't export at all. Trying to export a 1 hour movie to MP4. OSX Yosemite.

UPDATE: If you take out all spaces and special characters in the file name of the export the export works...

Same issue here. Yosemite, couldn't export, tried 2 different machines and 10 different export attempts with different variables, always no joy.  I did finally get past it -  I had a lot of edits/cuts in my source .mov files, which I stitched together -- shift key to join two pieces of cut source video, control to bring up context menu, first option ("stitch").  Never used to have to do that, but it got me past the refusal to export.  Now my audio track cuts out of the export, but that's for a different thread.  Hopefully the stitching trick works for someone else?

My Camtasia has started doing this, need a fix! Directory "Inputs Manager" does not exist in the "Go to" option or Hidden files. The terminal cannot find it either via commands or sudo commands. I am on Mavericks system 10.9.5
Is there anything I can do to make it so I can export? I am running on a upload scheduel

In the end I managed to get the raw files into Imovie and did it their, was a nasty experience but the problem never happened again. Sent my own individual tech support query and the problem was something to do with a glitch/error in the recording sequence of the file so Camtasia couldn't export it because of the error (mine also sucked up all my 8GB of memory so it took about 20 mins to get off it again.

Hope this helps!

Hello,

I'm having the same problem, where Camtasia 2 on Mac is exporting a zero-byte file. This is blocking me from my professional work. Do you have a solution to this problem?

Which Share option are you using?

If you are using Advanced Export, what options are you choosing?

Stephen,

I'm using the Advanced Export option, and just using the defaults. I've tried this several times, but still get a zero-byte file. I even uninstalled and re-installed Camtasia, and the symptom still appears.

Stephen,

I changed Dimensions from Current to 1920x1080 (1080p), and it rendered fine. The dimensions of my Camtasia project canvas are: 3,361x1,892.

Is this a known problem?

Try selecting one of the "Autolevel" profiles.  The other profiles have issues with some dimensions.

We exposed all the options that were available in the underlying Apple code.  In hindsight this was a mistake, because there are lots of ways to shoot yourself in the foot.  If you stick to the 3 Autolevel profiles, you should be good.

I have the issue of Camtasia 2 on MAC Mojave not producing any file after it goes through the export processing to any of the sharing options. Is there a fix for this or am I expected to buy the 2019 product at full price even though I have already paid full price for the product before? Can we get a fix please? I'm using this for business.
