I have some exciting news to share! But first I would also like to introduce myself. My name is Jason Valade and I am the new Product Manager for Camtasia Studio and Camtasia for Mac. I come to the team from the TechSmith Education team after 6 years as a classroom teacher. I am excited to talk with our customers - both new and experienced - about ways you are using our products to get professional looking results and to also have fun!

Screen-based videos can now grab viewers’ attention like never before! With today’s introduction of Camtasia Studio 8.1, TechSmith debuts green screen capability, video cropping, stitching, and the ability to copy and paste animations for fast, advanced video editing for everyone!

Key New Features in Camtasia Studio 8.1:

• Making its debut to PC users in Camtasia Studio 8.1, the green screen/remove a color effect allows users to put themselves inside a video, painting a picture that complements educational lessons or drives consumers to take action. Also called chroma key, the remove a color effect means a teacher can present from within a PowerPoint slide presentation or a company spokesperson can physically point out new features within a software application or web site. This level of engagement can add credibility while increasing interest and subject matter retention.

• Looking to get a tighter shot in a video? Crop video function allows you to remove specific video content, eliminating parts of a video or graphic not intended for viewing.

• Stitching allows you to merge edited video segments back together, applying video effects uniformly. Save significant time removing “um’s” and “ah’s” out of clips and reapplying video effects across media.

• If you create that perfect “fade” or “zoom and pan” effect you can now copy and paste those animations elsewhere on the timeline. You can even transfer them from one video project to another to create “signature” effects. Just copy the animation, open the other project, and paste to the timeline.

A free, 30-day trial of Camtasia Studio 8.1 is available to see how easy it is to create customized, professional, screen-based videos that can be shared with anyone, on any device. Discounted pricing is available for educators, government and non-profit organizations. The upgrade is free for current Camtasia Studio 8 users.

Sorry you are having trouble getting it installed.
You might try running the installer again, it seems like that dll failed to install.

Stitch is really nice, except that "Cut" cuts EVERYTHING on the timeline at that point, which isn't what I usually want to do (typically I've got timings right on most things and need to cut out dead space in audio, or something like that, and leave the rest alone). So, my typical use is going to be split-split-delete the unwanted stuff-select-select-right-click-stitch, which is a lot of clicking, but still a nice feature to have.

you can lock tracks to keep them from being affected by cuts
