I just purchased Camtasia and Snag it last evening and downloaded them on a new Windows 7 computer. Today I loaded my Office 2010 making sure I went with the 32 bit. I did find advice on the forum about both right clicking and choosing administrator and the manual way to bring the camtasia add in into powerpoint and neither seems to wook. The add in is not showing in the disabled box either.
Can you please help me with some advice. Thank You, Harold

Hello Harold,

If you installed Office 2010 after you had already installed Camtasia Studio or Snagit then the add-in's will not have been installed. You'll want to re-install them or do a repair install and include the PowerPoint Add-In. Let me know if this solves your issue or if I can be of any further assistance!

Thanks,
Brad

Thank you Brad! Unclear on one thing. Do I re-install the camtasia 8, or office...or both?

Hi Harold,

If you already have PowerPoint installed then you can go ahead and simply re-install Camtasia Studio without doing anything to PowerPoint.

If I can jump in and ask on this same/similar issue. I installed Camtasia 8 and it worked with the PPT 2010. But after I did the most recent update the addin stopped working. I now get a warning that says: Addin is disabled, would you like to enable? When I click YES it says: Addin error.
~Any suggestions?

Did you update Camtasia Studio and it stopped working or did you update PPT 2010 and it stopped working?

Either way, I would suggest:

1. Uninstall Camtasia Studio
2. Verify that the add-in is gone in PPT after the uninstall
3. Re-install Camtasia Studio

If that doesn't work you may want to contact support (it's free) so they can work with you one-on-one. You can open a ticket here and someone should reply in at least one business day.

I updated Camtasia. I will try re-install. I would have already tried that but our IT department has to do it when they get time. :(

I will contact tech support if IT doesn't have any luck.

Thanks

I have a customer who is using Windows 7 (64bit), ppt 2010, and the latest windows install of Camtasia (July 0f 2013), It will not show in ppt. We have done the following:
1. Checked Camtasia to make sure the ppt tick box is checked.
2. When we have gone into PPT options to add the Camtasia .dll we are dumped into a continous cycle where it does not want to install.

Any ideas of what might be going on here?

Thanks,
-rr
