Hey Richard,

Sorry to hear about the issues you are having. Can you clarify exactly when the captions aren't showing? When it's 720 or 1080, or both?

Here is a tutorial video on Captions: http://www.techsmith.com/tutorial-cam...

We have numerous tutorial videos you may benefit from here: http://www.techsmith.com/tutorial-cam...

If you can give me a few more details, that would be great!

Click the Produce and Share button. The Production Wizard appears.
Select the Custom production settings option from the dropdown menu. Click Next.

Choose the MP4 Flash / HTML5 Player option. Click Next.

On the Flash / HTML5 Player Option screen, click the Options tab.

Check the captions box, and from the captions type drop down menu, choose embed in to video. Click next.

I would like to have a mpg4 output with closed captions using Camtasia 8 what are the steps to do this?.

I have created a video with closed caption , I export it using Customer Production Setting -> MP4 Fliash / HTML5 player.

I can see the captions in html file using flash, I can't see my closed captions when viewing my mpg4 in AVI or other players.

I spent some time investigating and downloaded Yamb this allowed bind my mp4 output an export of closed captions .srt format together.

How do I create an MPG4 file in Camtasia with the closed captions as part of the file similar to what Yamb created?

you can't do what you want

if you want closed captions in you video you must produce with player and target the html file to play the video and display the captions, which are scripted in the config.xml file

you can add open [burned in] captions to the video file but they will always show when the video is played in any viewer

Camtasia 8 MP4 with below video captions not appearing.

When publishing my video in Camtasia 8 as an MP4, I published with the setting for "below video" captions.  The captions appear in the preview, however do not show in the final published MP4 file.  What is going on??

you have to publish with the player for the captions to show [play using the .html file]

otherwise, you must publish using "burned in captions"

these settings are available if you do custom productions
