camtasia 8 copy and paste for zoom&pan keys

In CS7 it was possible to copy and past the zomm&pan keys to another clip. In CS8 when I try to copy a z&p-key I will always copy the whole clip.

I need my videos in 2 different resolutions. So first I record and create the video in fullsize 1280x720. When everything is fine I reduce the canvas-size to 800x450 and apply zoom&pan to my clips. Because often I split inside a clip I have to apply the exact same z&p settings to the end of the first and the beginning of the second clip so the video will not "jump". In CS7 I just copied the key in the first clip and paste it to the second. This way I had exact the same zoom&pan. Is there a solution in CS8 to do this or do I have to set it manually at every cut?

Hello Michael,

Thank you for your feedback. I'm happy to say that we have announced the release of Camtasia Studio 8.1, which includes the ability to copy and paste Zoom&Pan keyframes.

You can now copy and paste zoom and other animations on the timeline by:

1. Right-clicking an animation and choosing "Copy".

2. Moving the playhead to the new location.

3. Right-clicking the clip and choosing "Paste".

For more information, watch this video tutorial:

Since it sounds like you have Camtasia Studio 8 installed, you can update to the new version by clicking Help > Check for Updates or by downloading and installing here http://www.techsmith.com/download/cam....

I hope you find this new feature helpful!

The issue I am having when I copy zoom and pan keyframes onto other clips in the timeline, is that it won't be at the beginning of the clip. A frame transition is present and I cannot get rid of it. Any suggesstions?

Hello, I'm using Camtasia 8.0.4, and there is no option to copy on a zoom when I right-click.

However - I would prefer to "copy/paste visual properties", so that I don't have to have the same zoom at the beginning of each clip. How do I do that with version 8?

Thanks

Is there anyway to get a list of all the issues addressed in 8.1, specifically those features like this one that were lost between 7.1 and 8.0. That would be a tremendous help to those of us that are reluctant to upgrade. thanks!

Hi Pumpkin,

You can find an overview of the new release here:
http://blogs.techsmith.com/news-event...

And here:
http://www.techsmith.com/camtasia-fea...

However, we don't have a list like you mention in your post:
"features like this one that were lost between 7.1 and 8.0"

And, you can always take version 8.1 for a free, 30 day spin to see if upgrading is right for you.
