Camtasia 8 stops recording audio after 5 seconds in PowerPoint on Windows Vista

I am trying to use the 30-day free trial of Camtasia to record the audio of presenters at a conference in two days.  It downloaded and installed OK.  I'm using PowerPoint and the Camtasia 8 Add-In.

When I start, via the Record icon on the Add-In pulldown, the slideshow puts up the first slide, and a Camtasia Record control on the lower right.  The VU meter in the control shows that the mic is working.

When I press that Record button, in about 5 seconds, a Camtasia dialog pops up and says the slideshow has ended, and it says there was not enough audio to be saved.  This has happened each time I've tried, in different PPT presentations, and after rebooting.

Can anyone help me with this problem, ASAP because the conference begins on Friday.

Hi there

Perhaps try it differently. Launch the Camtasia Recorder and just begin recording. Then launch the presentation. Once the presentation is over, stop the recording.

Cheers... Rick :)
