Camtasia Studio failed to create a video memory resource

I am on a trial version and get the following error message when I try to save a recording: "We are sorry! Camtasia Studio failed to create a video memory resource. The rendering engine will be restarted in software mode only". What is the meaning of this message? What do I have to do in order to let it function right?
Can recordings also be saved in AVI format so that you can also watch with Windows Mediaplayer?

Hello, Rob!

I would like you to go through and open Camtasia Studio 8 and go to Tools, then Options, and then on the Program tab (default launch tab) un-check the 'Use GPU acceleration if available' check box; upon unchecking the box, please hit 'OK' and then restart Camtasia Studio 8.

I have not ran Windows 10 on my PC yet as I am waiting for the Final Release for it to come out to the public. I do know however others are running from what I have seen on here and the internet that Camtasia Studio 8 does work with Windows 10 and there are some things that may not be compatible. What problems are you running into ? Can you be a little more specific with what you are having an issue with please. Thanks for posting and have a great day/night.

Have you tried using the latest Camtasia Studio 8 Version which is Build 1999 I believe. See if that works but it could be a combination of other software and things to as Audio and Video along with other applications can be a resource hog on a computer. Just a suggestion. Thanks for posting back and have a great day/night and I hope this helps and you like the information.

Hi, with our latest release, version 9, Camtasia is now a 64 bit application and we believe this will fix the 'out of memory' issues. Take advantage of the trial and see how it works for you?

As I mentioned in my post, we've made significant improvements with version 9, and it will probably address your issue. I'd suggest leaving GPU acceleration on and trying out the trial of Camtasia 9 to see if it works for you.

Hi Paul thank you for comment. But version9 is compatible only with 64bit for windows?

I'd  tried to install version 9 for trialversion. It failed to install  by that reason.

I'm sorry, I should have seen that in your previous post. Yes, I strongly suggest that you switch to 64 bit windows to help with memory issues in general, and also specifically with Camtasia.
Depending on the project, you may find that 2GB of RAM is a bit light. Last week I bought 8GB of ram for $50 on Amazon, to give you an idea of the cost.
