I would love to see Camtasia on Android and iOS. I use Camtasia to create training videos on my PC. There are several mobile apps that I would like to make videos of if Camtasia was available on the mobile opperating systems.

Hi Brian,

Thanks for your suggestion. Are you looking for recording only on iOS and Android, or do you want to edit on those platforms as well? Also, would you mind sharing where you share your videos?

Most mobile devices have little storage to do editing, and other features. But, they are great as "input" devices. So, an app to import to Camtasia Studio the recording of your screen, such as power points and so on, it would be just great.

Really? They come with little storage? My Galaxy S3 has 300GB internal with 8GB.

@Blake...are you sure the Galaxy S3 has 300GB of internal storage?

When capturing screens at a decent resolution, it is going to take a lot of storage. So even though 8 GB sounds like a lot, it would be used up very quickly once you started these type of projects.

That's why using something like Reflector App has been so popular. It captures everything from your mobile screen on your desktop and then allows you to take it into any program you'd like for editing. It's really is a great solution and saves the space on your mobile device.

I used the Reflector App to record these 2 tutorials from my iPad and then edited them in Camtasia:Mac (half way down the page):

At minimum I want to record video on iOS and Android. I need high quality audio which I get from my Yeti so I would prefer to record that on my computer. However full recording and editing tools on the tablet would be nice especially when high quality audio is not required. But working on a tablet would be difficult for anything major because access to all of my files on a tablet would be limited.

You can find my videos on my website at

I think using Camtasia on the pc in combination with iPad and/or Android (tablet version)

The screen that you are recording is on the pc and after recording you use your tablet for editing while the recording data is still on the pc.
Preview on the tablet during editing

Currently I use 2 screens with my laptop (external and main screen) and work that way with multiple monitors.

I think more combinations are possible

I would do the editing on a PC, but I'm looking for an app that will allow me to record the screen as I'm viewing on the tablet (android). I am using the tablet for more and more presentations and often want to capture the slides with sync'd audio.

Hi.. I'd like to know whether there is an evaluation version of Camtasia that I can use to record the screen on an Android tablet.

I can handle the editing on the PC, but need the software to record the tablet.

I'm about 4 months in to using Camtasia. Just bought a new Android tablet. Would love to be able to take off to the family cabin in the hills for a few days and do some editing work from the tablet instead of taking the laptop. When a spontaneous moment occurs, I would also like to be able to record some video from the tablet camera, drop it in to a project, do some basic editing, and then post to youtube, vimeo and some of the others that tubemogul accesses while

I draw. So I found many freee drawing apps in the market; one of those has a re-play of actions which could make a nice video of speed-painting, but it doesn't export the video, just the final art. I'd like Camtasia just to record the screen on my Samsung Galaxy Note II, so I could upload it to youtube.

I've been using snagit and camtasia for years. Now that I'm developing apps for Android I would like the ability to do screen recordings on this platform as well. I would only need to capture the video on Android. I would be fine using Fuse to send it to me desktop (Windows) for editing.
