Hey guys,

Currently, Camtasia for Mac is running into issues with recording for those who have updated to OSX 10.9. As that was a free update, we expect many of you will be updating. We are working on a fix as we speak, and will be posting here when we have something for you all! As it stands, if you need to record with Camtasia for Mac today, hold off on updating to Mavericks until we get a patch released. Sorry for the inconvenience!

Update: 10/24/13 We are currently testing a fix for this.

Update: 10/30/13 Version 2.5.1 is now live, and will fix this issue. You can find it here: http://www.techsmith.com/download/licenses/camtasiamac.asp?ver=2 or click the Camtasia 2 menu, then Check for Updates. Thanks for your patience!

I don't see the update option in my version of Camtasia which was purchased on the app store. Will this cause icense problems downloading and updating from the link provided?

I am holding off until the update appears on the app store until Camtasia advises if the download link is OK for versions purchased through the app store.

Good question Bob.  If you purchased through the Mac app store, you're better off waiting for the app store version to become available.  The app store version of 2.5.1 has been submitted and must be approved by Apple before it goes live.  As soon as it passes the review process, we'll push it live and you can update through the app store.

I've just downloaded version 2.5.1 and not only is the Mavericks problem resolved - but you've also fixed the problem with the black screen which appeared when we recorded on the secondary monitor. I'm a happy girl right now - and it's my birthday. Thanks Techsmith for the great birthday gift!

Mix to mono doesn't work in Camtasia for Mac.  I select the option, upload to YouTube and the sound is only coming from one headphone.  If a select the option, save the project, close and open the project the option is de-selected.  Greate new feature, total shame it doesn't work.

Good to hear, thanks.  I know it can be hard to say, but are we talking days or weeks?  That'll help me plan around it.

The mix to mono bug has been fixed in version 2.6.0 of Camtasia for Mac, which was released today.  2.6.0 also includes some other exciting features.  Read about it here: http://www.techsmith.com/camtasia-mac-features.html

Valentina,

If your key is for Camtasia 2, it should work for all releases of Camtasia 2.  If you're still on 1.x, you'd need to purchase the upgrade which is cheaper than the full version.  Here's a link to the upgrade page on our store: https://store.techsmith.com/order/camtasiamacupgrade.asp

If you're having problems getting your key to work and you're sure it's the right version, open a ticket with our support at http://support.techsmith.com/

Mavericks problem (screen doesn't record).

Hi everyone,

I am having problems with CamTasia for Mac and Mac OS X Mavericks.
I want to record my screen, but it only records my first screen. So for example: when i want to record Safari, it only record the first page on Safari. When i click through to websites, it shows my cursor, but not the other websites or the things i click on.

How can i fix this? I noticed this after i made 4 video's so i'm feeling a bit stupid. I hope someone can help me!

Thanks!

Are you running version 2.5.1 of Camtasia for Mac?  Prior versions do not record the second monitor correctly on Mavericks.  2.5.1 should work.
