While recording a video using Camtasia Fuse on my iPad2 (iOS 6), I received an event reminder. Closing the reminder halted my video and forced me to upload to my Relay profile. I could not start a new video. Very disappointing.

Mr. Stanfill,

Before asking around, I didn't think your request was possible. Because of the sand-boxing in iOS, we can't continue to record when some other app/notification is in the foreground, so at a bare minimum we have to pause the recording. (That's not our restriction, it's Apple's) I didn't think it was possible to resume recording after the notification was addressed but after asking around, it appears our ScreenChomp app does indeed do this. So we're checking to see if this can be done in our other iOS apps.

Sorry I didn't see your message earlier. It was logged under the Camtasia Studio produce and not Camtasia Relay and therefore, I didn't see it until another coworker brought it to my attention.

Good news! Upon looking this over, one of our developers Luke was able to put this into the next version of the Fuse recorder. If a notification appears while a Fuse recording is taking place, it can be dismissed all the while the recording continues. If the user leaves the app by either hitting the home button or the power button, we will have to stop the recording, but that is more of a limitation of iOS than the app itself.

Thanks for bringing it to our attention in order for us to look it over again. We're going to go through a round of testing and then have this update available in the next version.

Based on your feedback, this problem was addressed in our latest release of Fuse for Camtasia Relay which was released just yesterday. Thanks for reporting it and we hope you enjoy the new version.
