Hi,

Camtasia:mac crashes for me almost every time I do something on the timeline. I cannot understand what action is causing it to crash, but one that certainly does is trying to import media. That just crashes it all the time.

Please tell me what could I do to change this because it's really unusable. I already reported the problem to the technical support but had no reply.

Thanks.

Hey there,

Let's try this:

- Please navigate to: YourHomeFolder/Preferences/com.techsmith.camtasia.plist
-Delete that file and the restart Camtasia to see what happens.

Let me know!

I assume you mean:

YourHomeFolder/Library/Preferences/com.techsmith.camtasia2.plist

Deleting that has no (beneficial) impact on the problem.

Thanks!

Hey there,

Ok, on to something else.

- Navigate toYourHomeFolder> Library/Logs/CrashReporter
- Locate any files that begin with Camtasia
- Please send me all of those files

You can upload the file through this service: http://tinyurl.com/support-upload

Please select "Logan S" as the recipient so that the file will be sent directly to me.

Last, be sure to message me back here to let me know that the file has been uploaded.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

Is there a response to this problem? I am having the same issue. Extremely unstable program. Crashes almost every 2 or 3 minutes. Seriously! Something needs to be done. Come on people.

Hey Bill,

What version of Camtasia are you using? What OS are you running? Is there any way you can follow the directions up above and send me your crash logs?

Thanks!

I found this link. Seemed to actually help (a little). Still had 1 crash. But I was able to render 2 videos without error.

Definitely did not fix the issue, but it did help. For some reason it seems to really bog down my MAC. I can't have any other programs open - including Chrome while Camtasia is running.

Sure wish there was a fix for this!!

Here's the link. I followed exactly as shown in the video. AGAIN.. this did NOT fix the issue, but it helped make it run a "little" smoother.
