I saw that when a PowerPoint presentation is recorded, the system creates a table of contents. This would be a great feature for all recordings. Students like to be able to see thumbnails of the lecture and be able to go to the exact place where the information is being shown.

Elisabeth,

Thanks for the request. How would you propose we choose what the table of contents entry would be if there was no slide from which we could get it? How would we know what text to use for that TOC/bookmarked point?

We are currently using a system which takes a snapshot every few minutes displaying what is shown on the screen at that moment. These snapshots are listed as thumbnails on the side of the recording when viewed. Tags added to the snapshots allow the viewer to move to the exact point in the recording where the snapshot was taken.

On our current system there is no bookmark text only thumbnails.

Actually it would be great if thumbnails would show as seen on YouTube videos. As viewers slide along the time line they can see miniature scene images.
