I've been using Camtasia Studio 7 since it was released as an upgrade from version 6, and I have had major problems with it, including:

Sound disappearing until I reboot the program and sometimes the computer.

Black screens appearing after rendering a video out where there should be graphics.

Now the program won't open up unless I either reboot the computer, and/or re-install the software.

I'm ready to shit can version 7 and go back to version 6.

Any suggestions.

Hi Ron,

Camtasia Studio 8 has just been released and has been redesigned from the ground up. The new rendering engine and timeline are more stable than in previous releases. As an existing customer, you are entitled to an upgrade discount, and the price will be reduced even further for a short period after the release. Feel free to give it a try and let us know what you think.

The 30-day trial is fully functional and can be installed alongside existing versions of Camtasia Studio. You can learn more about the new version here:
