Hi Randy

Does your assurance of a free upgrade to Camtasia Studio version 8 apply to my circumstances (4 posts above)...

I purchased version 7.1 on May 17th, 2012... Received, Installed and Registered it on May 21st.

I have not seen a response back yet regarding my post... Thank You

Hi John,

Sorry, I guess your comment slipped through. You *should* be okay. Like I said to Susan, just get in touch with customer service on release day and they should be willing to work with you.
Also, if you haven't signed up on the notification list(linked in the video posted above), I would do that. If it turns out you aren't covered under the free upgrade policy, the discount for upgrades given to people on that email list should make it hurt a lot less :-).

It look me less than 30 minutes of trialling v8 to realize it's not for me.. Shame I have loved Camtasia for many years.

Why the dark, hard on the eyes color theme?
Whats with all the handles on the preview pane?
Why are callouts no longer reversible?
Why does it slam my CPU?
Why does it leave gaps in the timeline when I remove sections?
Didn't you notice that adding so many baubles to this Christmas tree, you have broken the branches?
I could go on but I won't.

The power of Camtasia was its simplicity. You are trying to make a competitor for Premiere and I urge you to realize that the beauty of Camtasia is it's ability to get jobs done simply and at great speed.

I love Camtasia but based on what I have seen so far, will stay with v7 and eventually migrate to a product that notices you have moved out of your core competency and left a gaping hole in the 'simple and efficient arena'.

I wish you every success with your new target market. I will miss the greatest, simple to use video creation app I have ever encountered;

RIP Camtasia.

I have been a loyal and happy Camtasia user for many years now, so I bought version 8 with absolute confidence. Having used 8 for several weeks now, I am sorry to report that it is not an overall improvement. It is more time consuming to use, and no longer an easy way to produce ADA compliant videos. I'm going to shop around for a different product.

I guess all good things must come to an end. :(

Huh! Am I missing something with this forum. Here's another post that appears to be new in that it is at the top of the forum. But the last comment was 1 month ago from KODonnel. Puzzled why old threads are appearing at the top of the list.
