Camtasia Studio 8: Record Camera does not synchronize correctly with existing tracks.

My son likes to make recording of his singing talent. And because I already own Camtasia Studio 8, I try to use it for this.
What I typically do is, first add a track with just the background music. Then I plug in my headphones, webcam and microphone and use the "Record Camera..." feature to make Camtasia play back the music and record video and audio of my son singing the song.
Unfortunately, there is an issue with synchronisation. After recording, I always end up having to move the original audio track and/or the newly recorded video+audio track a bit to get them back in sync.

That's probably because of the distances. It takes a bit more of time for the sound from the mic to reach the computer, although very less, it can get significant sometimes.
I would suggest you to add the background instrumental track after the recording. While singing, he can listen to the instruments may be through a head phone. So, you only record the singing track and add the instrumental track afterwards.
Hope that helps
