Hey Peter,

Can you provide a few more details on when the crashes are occurring? Are you getting any error messages? What version of Camtasia are you using?

M using win8.1 enterprise N... and camtasia studio8 but it is not running and showing following msg.....C:\Windows\SYSTEM32\WMVCore.DLL is either not designed to run on Windows or it contains an error. Try installing the program again using the orignal installation media or contact your system adminstrator or the software vendor for support.Error status 0xc000007b.

Anand,

Camtasia Studio uses WMVCore.dll for WMV playback and production.  The fact that you have the "N" version of Windows means that you're missing the Windows Media components.  To fix the error, you simply need to download and install the Windows Media Feature Pack for your OS.  Here's a link for Windows 8.1: http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=40744

Hope this helps.

Mackenzie,

We would not release the software with a known startup crash.  Usually, these issues are machine or driver dependent, and it takes some back-n-forth to get to the root cause.  Please update to the latest version (8.3.0 is the latest, as of today) by downloading and installing the latest version from our website.  If the issue persists, then the best way for us to help is for you to contact our TechSupport staff directly by submitting your question at http://support.techsmith.com.  Our TechSupport staff will respond to your submitted question by email, and we can assist you further.

For me it's not working either. I have Windows 8.1 Enterprise x64 and Camtasia studio opens and than it crashes. I'm not even able to click somewhere from the very begining. I tried to Nvidia panel trick and nothing changed.

Can some please help me?
