Why the heck does it do that? What a time waster. I do not want the same text in every box. I am constantly deleting and retyping or pasting.

Tech support said there is no system malfunction. That is how it is. dumb.

David,

Please note that if you double-click on the callout in the timeline or in the preview window, it will open up the callout view with all the text selected.

So the workflow could be:
1. Add a new callout (or copy/paste an existing one)
2. Double click on the callout. This selects all text.
3. Begin typing your new text.

How would you like it to behave? Thanks for any additional info you can provide for how it could better fit your workflow.

That wasn't the question.  It isn't a matter of editing an existing callout. It's when you add a new callout, it is auto-populated with the previous callout's text.

Dave, Thank you for the reply.
I appreciate the workaround and will practice it.

I would rather it assume that when I add a calllout- it would be blank- allowing me to paste text or copy the callout if I am doing a repetititve callout(s).

After 5 different callouts- it gets a bit old to constantly clean up and then type-in or paste. I just think it would be a bit smoother to not have it prepopulated.

I'm having trouble with this feature, but with a twist. Not only does my previous text display, but also the shape and I'm unable to edit the latter, it seems. My previous callout was a rectangle and the next one should be a thought bubble. When I select the thought bubble and click Add callout, my previous one is there (text and shape) in the preview area. I tried to change the shape, but it's not picking it up.

Thoughts?

I am having a similar problem as Patti. It appears to be occurring with older, previous projects that I am reworking. In these I have an opening callout with text. Every time I add another callout (shape with text) the text is the same as the start. I can change the text, but I cannot change the shape. As a further note, the opening text if from a library item that I created over a year ago. I have version 8.0.3. I think this start with the latest upgrade.

My issue is extremely annoying--rendering the text callout feature almost unusable. If I add a new text callout, all my existing callouts change to the new text! What am I doing wrong? I can't believe that this is a bug, but rather a huge human interface issue.

Same problem as Patti and Jeff. I click to add a 'T' text callout and it places an Arrow. Very frustrating!!

I have exactly the same problem. What is the solution? I have to go through and verify that none of my callouts have changed. HELP!
