After using the volume leveling some of the 'S' sounds in my video now have hiss. I was wondering if camtasia has a way to fix that specific problem? The noise removal tool doesn't seem to work.

Hello,

Probably not; the audio options inside Camtasia are rather limited. Hiss is usually continuous underneath all voice sounds. If it's affecting the 'S' sounds only this is usually referred to as sibilance.

Do you still have the original track somewhere as it was? Can you still do an UNDO on the volume leveling process? Depending on the original issue, there are multiple methods to improve an audio track outside and then bring it back into the project.

I do have original clips but as per advice from the forums I've been converting to mp4 every time camtasia crashes or gets too slow to use so I'll have to find another solution. I'd rather not redo days of work.

No of course not redoing work, just potentially reprocessing what you already have. How long (running time) is the audio file? Do you know what's causing your crashes? Mine are so rare now I can't remember the last one.

I honestly have no idea. I can't even remember what it said, it doesn't happen as often when editing mp4 files but next time it comes up I'll get a screen shot. Video times range from.. six minutes to eighteen.

What was the original complaint that the volume leveling tool was employed for?

I have a tendency to change volumes when I talk I guess.
