Can I disable simplified crosshairs?

I've been using Snagit on WIndows 10 for ages and I love it!  However, I've not upgraded since version 13 because from version 2018 onwards it only allows me to use simplified crosshairs (if I switch Simplified Crosshairs off in the Capture Preferences panel it has no effect).  I'm assuming this is because I have 3 off 2560x1440 monitors.  However, I find the crosshairs extensions to the edge of the screen extremely useful for checking the alignment of all manner objects (eg text and images in any application), ie nothing to do with screen capture, just an added bonus tool courtesy of Snagit.  So my question, is there anyway (eg via regedit) I can force Snagit to use the complex crosshairs (ie with the extensions to the edge of the screen and even the faded background) even with my monitor setup?

Theres no reason switching off simplified crosshairs shouldn't work.

Here I have 3 monitors working running. One is 2560 x 1440. The other 2 are 1929 x 1080. The Cross Hairs span one monitor.

If I click and drag across multiple monitors, the shaded area follows. But they won't cross all three monitors until you initiate a capture.

FWIW my 2018 defaults to the extended crosshairs with simplified as an option in the capture preferences.

I don’t use multi monitors (only one) so maybe it’s a multi monitor thing.

It definitely appears to be related to the resolution and number of monitors I have.  If I change all 3 monitors to 1920x1080 I get the normal cross hairs back.  In fact if I have 2 monitors set to 1920x1080 and one set to 2560x1440 I get the normal cross hairs but once 2 or more are set to 2560x1440 then the cross hairs switch to simple mode and the checkbox in the capture preferences has no effect.

In prior versions of SnagIt (including 2018), there were issue with extended crosshairs and TechSmith support would recommend going to simplified crosshairs.  I have 3 - 4K monitors (3840x2160) and just lived with the slowness (draginess) of initiating a capture.  I have no issues in extended crosshairs across 3 screens.  I can tell you this...They've made much improvements in 2019 with the "Choppiness" of initiating a capture.  I've been using SnagIt since the very beginning back in 90/91.  This is so far the best version I've seen.  I'm expecting to see some bugs, but they always seem to be "on it".  There was just an update yesterday to 2019.  Sorry, I would have uploaded the capture of my 3 - 4K screens but the image is too big.
