i am creating a video that starts with a Powerpoint presentation. In the middle of the presentation i want to do a screen recording then come back to the presentation. I am using the recording add in in PowerPoint to record. Is there a way for me to do a screen capture in the middle of my powerpoint presentation from the add in?

Hi there

Note that I've not tried this. Personally, I avoid using the PowerPoint recorder and I just launch Camtasia Recorder and then from PPT I launch the presentation. But to my knowledge, you simply have a screen recording running and a PPT presentation running.

I might think it would be as simple as pressing Alt+Tab to switch to whatever the application is you want to record, record that, then Alt+Tab back to the PPT presentation.

Again, I've not tried it. Should be easy to prove or disprove the theory!

If it fails for whatever reason, you could then achieve it the way I said I typically work.

Cheers... Rick :)

I would say to use the PPT Add-in to record your PPT in it's entirety. Then switch to a regular screen recording option and capture that. Then in the project time line, split the PPT recording and slide the latter portion to the right to make room for the screen recording. Trim it up and add transitions (optional) and you should be very close to what you want.
