Can I have SNAGIT 2017 back???

after spending 30 minutes creating a login, trying to find your account verification code in my company's spam filter, and going through too many hurdles, in my opinion, to give you feedback.. You have NO IDEA HOW PISSED I AM RIGHT NOW!!!!

I ABOSOLUTELY 1000% HATE YOUR 2018 VERSION OF SNAGIT!!!  (I HOPE YOU NOTICED THAT I AM TYPING IN ALL CAPS RIGHT NOW, BECAUSE I AM SCREAMING AT MY DESK...

I HATE THIS NEW PRODUCT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Get it all out ... we get it but then realize there are some nice new features and a promise of fixing what they broke. There are some nice changes and some things are different but hopefully you can quickly get back up to speed
If  you figured out what needs to be done great. If not you might take it to support as this is for the most part a user / user forum

Paul, were you able to get Snagit 2018 loaded. Were you an upgrade customer and which platform? I do think that software licensing must be effortless for bona fide licensed customers. TechSmith, and many other vendors, can make license management way too complex (and there are plenty of fringe issues that can take place).

Could you elaborate a bit more on what you dislike? I understand you're upset, but just saying you hate it doesn't give us any actionable details.

The steps involved with Snagit have changed,  (NOW, after you select on the area you want to make an image, you have to decide what you want to do with it.. there is a CAMERA, VIDEO, LAUNCH PANORAMIC, etc..)  and for someone who just clicks on my Snagit Icon, does a couple short-cut key strokes, and adds an image to an email, everything just falls apart.  Plus, the new 2018 version is super slow.  I use to do these key strokes in seconds and move on with my day.. now, I have to wait about 5 seconds between each step and a total of 30 seconds before I can do anything to the image.  My old version was immediate, and I had been for years..  This is why I want my old version back.

I tried to upload a video here, but it's too large or something..  Anyway, this is why I was frustrated, and your enrollment process to give feedback it too cumbersome

Hi Paul,

Yes, there are a few changes to the default capture workflow, but as Rick and Glenn pointed out, it doesn't take long to change the behavior of Snagit to fit your needs, then you won't have to worry about it going forward. The wait times and delay you're describing are frustrating. There are a few tweaks that we can do to make it faster:
- Switch to image only by clicking the image tab or setting up a preset
- Turn on simplified crosshairs

- Make sure Editor is running in the background

You can go to manage presets and change that behavior. I believe it is the "All in one" that creates that choice. Change it to image. While you are ate it you can adjust and create other captures and add hot keys

As far as the performance concerns, there is another thread where some users have said their performance issues seem to be related to Realtek audio drivers. If you don't see anything useful there, I'd open a support ticket.

This feedback site is a service we pay for because we don't want to be in the business of writing feedback software. As someone who's typically in here several times a day, I have some gripes about it as well. It's useful to hear that you didn't have a good experience, so I can file that away the next time we're evaluating our user feedback mechanisms.

Whats wrong? How about all the things that were either broken or removed since v11?
They are not listening here. perhaps it is time to hit the social media sites
