Can I set Techsmith Smart Player to play in fullscreen mode by default?

I'm uploading Camtasia hotspot videos to a wordpress site and playing them in an iframe and it works great. On mobile phones, the fullscreen button takes you to a new browser tab. I want to avoid that by creating an onplay event that will open it in fullscreen. If I could now what javascript even to call, it will solve my problem. But I've searched and looked through 100's of js lines and cannot find the event.

Hello Jaco,

I'm assuming by "mobile phone" you might be using an iPhone?  The fullscreen feature is not available on iPhones and that is why the full screen button is not in the player.  The open in a new tab is a bad workaround to get the video to be larger.

When I refer to the "fullscreen feature", it is the ability to put our HMTL in a fullscreen mode so things like hotspots, captions and quizzing will be displayed over the video.  Apple has added this for iPads with iOS12, but has yet to ship it for iPhones.  Also Chrome on Android devices supports fullscreen mode too.

Hi Ben,

Thank you for taking time to reply.
You are correct in your assumption and thanks for explaining it so well.
I'm glad to know the Android users will not have the same experience.

Best regards
Jaco
