Can imgur be integrated into Snagit?

Imgur add on posted on Github doesn't work with the latest version of snagit. It would be awesome if TechSmith would integrate it as part of the product instead of relying on 3rd party add ons.

Really unfortunate that the Github add-on is no longer supported. Doesn't look like TechSmith will ever add this even though it's been requested many times over the past few years.

That's funny, such a great app without imgur support. No sense to buy it then

+1 for this.  just finished looking ALL over.  this and the 4k limitation in screen recording are two HUGE marks against this becoming my perma solution.

plus I have to do any video captures with the cursor enabled otherwise I get some error about only supporting up to 4k and down to 64 or some such.  Foudn out that toggling recording the cursor on stops the error.

Also if you have it set up to downsample to 1080p it moves the icon in your tray to the end (i have it set to the opposite end and took me forever to find out what/when/why it was moving itself)  purely aesthetic/an annoyance but....

Anyhow, im getting off topic.

In the grand scheme of things - its amazing imgur isnt in yet.  Its such an paltry thing to add relative to what these guys do that it makes me wonder if theres a reason they arent.  Doesnt make much sense.  They have plugins for waaaaaay more obscure/niche services.

Actually, with Imgur, is there any need for a specific SnagIt output? I use Pinterest a ton and to my knowledge there is no Pinterest output. But even if there was, I'm not sure I'd use it. Why? For the same reason that I fail to see a need for an Imgur output. You are able to just click and drag the thumbnail from SnagIt and drop it right into the upload area for the site. I might think if an output existed, it would only serve to hinder the process.

well, it's just like any output that SnagIt has, you can easily do all that intermediate steps to output to anything.

It would save seconds each time (hours, perhaps in your case, posting to Pinterest) you upload pictures.

Hmmm, I do suppose if I were to have my browser closed and each time I wanted to upload to Pinterest, it may save me the time of opening the browser and whatnot.

But I don't operate that way. I always have a browser tab opened to Pinterest. So it's as simple as two clicks and a drag. I click to tell Pinterest I want to upload, then click to bring SnagIt into focus, then just drag the image to the Pinterest upload. Same for facebook or any other app where I do this.

To each his or her own I suppose. I know it wasn't obvious or apparent to me that I could operate that way until I saw it mentioned here in this forum. And I think it may be a relatively new aspect of working with SnagIt. That ability to click and drag elsewhere.

Happy Tuesday! Rick :)

Another thing to consider with these SnagIt add ins is that I've seen many cases where the add in was working just dandy, then some aspect of what the add in did with the page it interacts with changes and breaks the capability. So if you are reliant on the add in, you feel sort of lost until such time as the developers sort what's going on, then make a change to make it work again.

I, for one, would love to have imgur integrated into Snagit.  Rick Stone's (Pinterest) method takes too many clicks. The "click" to actually have the browser page open and positioned for dragging and dropping is too already too many.  In my situation, I need something where I can obtain the direct link to the image so I can temporarily use it for intranet messageboards that allow such links.

I, for one, love Snagit.  I bought Snagit at version 12 and then 13 and been using the Imgur addons. Then I upgraded to version 2018 and saw the Imgur addon doesn't work, therefore I returned it and requested a refund. I know that 2019 is released, but.....I guess I'll stick with 2013, because it fits my needs perfectly.

in addition I need to do any video catches with the cursor empowered else I get some mistake about just supporting up to 4k and down to 64 or some such. Foudn out that flipping recording the cursor on stops the blunder.
