Camtasia 9.1 for Windows comes with a Noise removal functionality but I was not able to find detailed explanations about how really to use it.
At least nothing more some empyric explanations.
I'd like to know more about Sensitivity and Amount sliders and especially about the Analyze button....
What are they really for?

 Kind regards,
Marco

Hi .

There is not a great deal of info on this in the manual, but generally If I want to know what something does I push it to extreme values before using it within the correct range.  Iv found the sensitivity must be a threshold sensitivity to what DB level is regarded as noise, and what is above the noise floor, thats is if its works on the basis of a noise gate.  I found it works best between a negative to zero value best. You should be able to select a area between the two markers where there is noise and analize that area of noise, but I somehow think its not working the same as it did in Camtasia 8 as the timeline would move when analising, in 9 I dont see this.  I find the Noise removal less that adequate, so if its that bad id either record it again or use a external audio editor with a proper noise removal tool.  Its about time Camtasia support VST plugins.  At the very least we should have a Threshold, Attack, Release, and Amount, with  live update to the wave form.

noise removal in CS9 is problematical; for me, usually fails if there are multiple clips involved, and I've never gotten it to work acceptably with web cam clips
