Can someone explain why Camtasia only uses about 65% of my 4-core CPU for encoding jobs?

Even extremely basic GUI applications that do conversion tasks can use 100% of a 4-core CPU to get the job done. I'm sitting here looking at Camtasia crawl through an encode that is taking twice as long as it should for the hardware I have to throw at it.

By taking advantage of the "GPU" (that's your video graphics card) we are able to offload a lot of the work from the CPU to the gpu where it can be done much faster, and save time transferring things on and off of the graphics card for processing. Technical jargon aside, your CPU is not necessarily the limiting factor here.

Hope that helps.
