Camtasia 2018 Projects and Camtasia 2018 Library assets are not directly backwards compatible with Camtasia 9
However, with a little "slight of hand", it's doable
Just be aware that new Camtasia 2018 functions, like the new behaviors [like "explode"], will not work in Camtasia 9

A word of warning : expect bad things to happen if you do that to a 60fps project and try to open it in Camtasia 9.

Thanks for that heads-up, Stephen; makes since as 60 FPS is a new 2018 function; I can't test for that as I have no 60 FPS source

You do not need 60 FPS sources to create 60 FPS projects. Even without 60 FPS sources, animations, behaviors and transitions will be smoother in a 60 FPS project.

Yea; I've done some of that using animations, and there is definitely a great improvement in smoothness when produced at 60 FPS; but since most all my work is screencasted tutorials, 60 FPS is not something I'm likely to use much, as it makes file sizes larger
but I imagine that 60 GPS high motion game play looks a lot better when produced at 60 FPS
